I entered this field in mid-life as a result of dissatisfaction in my previous field and a strong sense of my need to follow what I had always loved - psychology. After being trained in a wholistic psych program at Univ of West GA and getting additional trainings of depth psychotherapy with American Academy of Psychotherapists, for the last 12 years, I have been practicing Experiential Psychotherapy. My philosophy is rooted in Humanistic psychology, and an emphasis in the relationship between the therapist and client, in the growth of client, rather than pathology, and in focusing on the whole of the client, rather than in one aspect. I actively engage in my own self-work to remain aware of my personal dynamics and any barriers that might affect my ability to be fully present with clients. I strive to approach each person with curiosity rather than judgment, and I trust deeply in every individual’s innate capacity for healing and growth if given the right support, insight, and relationship.

Life transitions—whether planned or unexpected—can leave even insightful, high-functioning, capable adults feeling overwhelmed or uncertain. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can lay down what’s been heavy, explore the patterns beneath it, and build tools that actually work in daily life. My goal is to help you move from stress and self-doubt toward greater clarity, balance, and confidence. Whether you’re coping with panic, burnout, perfectionism, or grief, we’ll focus on practical strategies that fit your life. Therapy with me is about more than coping; it’s about creating clarity, balance, and the confidence to move forward. You already carry strengths—I help you use them with purpose. It requires a commitment to yourself and serves as an investment. The return on that investment can be achieving goals, growth, and emotional satisfaction. Is emotional upheaval getting in the way of your moving forward with your life? I would love the opportunity to help you to sort through the sources of the emotions, help to make them more manageable, and help you to regain some sense of direction and progress for your life. Working toward more refined beliefs and understanding about emotions, circumstances, and responses to them can be helpful. In my roughly 30 years as a psychologist I have mostly worked with people who have problems with anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger, relationship problems, and aging issues. I have worked with ages ranging from elementary school to 70s and a little older. I have found that experience allows me to realize client needs more quickly than in my early years in practice, and hope to use this experience to your benefit. Note that online scheduling is limited, and my practice schedule is Monday and Tuesday from 1pm to 6pm, and Wednesday from 12pm to 5pm. Abeke "Kay" Baker, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a 2011 graduate of Mercer University School of Medicine’s Master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy. With a career in mental health and social services that began at just 14 years old, Abeke brings over 18 years of hands-on experience to her work. She began as a youth counselor with the Red Cross Lock Key Kids safety program and has since served in diverse roles, including Program Director for Howard County Parks and Recreation in Columbia, MD—supporting youth and young adults with developmental disabilities, autism, and maladaptive behaviors—as well as working in inpatient crisis stabilization settings for both adolescents and adults. Founder of All 1 Family, Inc. Abeke is the founder of All 1 Family, Inc., a nonprofit community mental health organization based in Atlanta, GA. The organization is dedicated to supporting the mental wellness of LGBTQ+ individuals—especially people of color—by offering a safe, affirming space for clients to explore their identities and experiences with the support of culturally competent therapists. All 1 Family provides low-cost counseling services, including individual, family, group, and couples therapy. The clinicians—many of whom identify as LGBTQ+ or allies of color—bring lived experience and deep empathy to their work. Founder’s Statement “While working across inpatient and community-based mental health settings—providing crisis intervention, assessments, and psychotherapy—I noticed a troubling pattern: many LGBTQ+ individuals were seeking support but struggled to find providers who were affirming, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. This gap often led individuals to delay or forgo much-needed care. All 1 Family was born from the belief that everyone deserves a safe space to be seen, heard, and supported.”

Hello, my name is Chris Andrews, and I’m a native Atlantan, born and raised in Southwest Atlanta. I attended Georgia State University, where I began developing a passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges. With over 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field, I’ve had the privilege of working with both adolescents and adults, primarily addressing issues related to family conflict, school and work struggles, and behaviors that disrupt home life and relationships. Throughout my career, I’ve seen the powerful impact that support and guidance can have in helping individuals and families break through barriers and create healthier environments. Outside of my professional life, I’m happily married with two children. When I’m not helping others find balance and peace in their lives, I enjoy spending time outdoors, taking in nature, and staying active. I look forward to working together and helping you or your loved ones overcome any challenges you may be facing.

If you've asked yourself any of these questions, you've come to the right address. I'm happy to help your family work to become more "functional." Search therapists by insurance

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Georgia rather than a city like Atlanta?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Georgia from Athens to Savannah! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Georgia.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
